Elk. Two views.

When next you find yourself in that great Wyoming valley known as Jackson Hole, be sure to make your way up to Teton National Park near Jenny Lake. We photographed this proud bull elk as he escorted his harem (just outside the frame) across a snow blanketed field, his amorous bugling piercing the early morning quiet.

Then, later in the evening when you find yourself in the town of Jackson, dying of hunger, be sure to drop in to Trio (an amazing restaurant!) for a tasty elk dinner.

Cheers!

  1. Awesome meal! My own elk tag comes up in a few weeks, and I will deep in the woods with rifle and camera in hand! I find elk meat to be to be a very natural product for anyone willing to work for it, but nothing against having an opportunity to order it at a fine restaurant either! Good stuff all around!

    I see you got the snow in Jackson this time around...

    Cheers!

  2. Yes, snowed on and off all week. 4 wheel drive made it passable, though! Wholly different scenery from last visit. Beautiful.

    Frequent flier miles makes the occasional fine restaurant possible! ;^}

    Got your email, will talk soon brother.

  3. Cool pictures.

    We spent some time out in the wilderness of Western MD but the only wildlife I had the privilege of shooting was a fat little field mouse who visited our camp site. It must be hunting season or something because the White Tail that are usually abundant where we camp were practically non existent.

    Anyway, looks like you had a great time and I'm looking forward to more pics. Keep them coming. Oh and you have a bit of catching up to do... I've been somewhat busy this past few of weekends as reflected in my blog. ;-)

  4. Thanks man!

    Catching up to do... yes indeed. Way behind on just about everything! Maryland Life needs images for next summer's issue, and need to shoot Langley Park characters in the next few weeks. Then there's the blog, website and of course... real life! Heh. ;^}
