Then and Now #3

In 1945 after the liberation of Paris, a Colonel in the U.S Army made a photograph of the Eiffel Tower from Place du Trocadero. 63 years later an American traveler, owing his very freedom to visit places like France to said officer/photographer, found himself in the same area and made his own photograph.

  1. Michael - many thanks to you for many reasons - 1) for giving my father credit for his beautiful photograph, 2) recognizing the beauty of the photo and have it inspire you to make your own. My father would be honored.

    All best,

  2. Thank you for your kind comment, Mr Foote. It is I of course who is honored.

Your father's photo is one that I feel I've always known. Iconic. When I was in Paris, it came back to me easily. I knew I had to find that spot. Make that photograph! It was a special moment for me.

    Thanks again.

    With my best regards,
