This Land Is Your Land

As I was walking that ribbon of highway,
I saw above me that endless skyway:
I saw below me that golden valley:
This land was made for you and me.
I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts;
And all around me a voice was sounding:
This land was made for you and me.

There's No Way Like the American Way

(whatever that means!)

 I've been off-line for some time, but hope to get back into the swing of things soon. Thanks for understanding.

Meantime, a little Americana:

Cheers.

Independence Day, 2011

Funny story: A few years ago, a fellow from the neighborhood walked down our street with a bag full of these little 4x6 plastic American flags. He was gleefully planting them in each and every yard he passed. It wasn't until later that I notice the fine print.

I suspect the irony was lost on him. Still makes me smile.

Happy 4th, people! Don't blow off any fingers... 'k?
