I completely forgot about the rally; had planned to go when it was first announced. But then I don't watch Comedy Central and didn't really see many promos for it after it was announced.
Photos are fantastic... Much better than mine of course. Did you process them with the new system? Would have loved to see more pics of the overall crowd. Saw some on the rallytorestoresanity.com/ site. Looked crowded and YOUNG. Great to see them engaged.
I only hope those young intelligent people realize Stewart and Colbert are comedians. I've talked to a few who seem to be confused on that fact. ;-)
BTW: I thought Cat Steven's abandon music when he found Islam.
Thanks. Yes... still exploring LightRoom and its capabilities. It's a fantastic program. Fast and efficient. Definitely built with the photographer's needs in mind.

No idea what that could mean.

Great pix. Glad us old folk have better memories than you youngans! We were among the 215,000 plus* happy, civil people looking for some sanity. Stewart and Colbert ARE acquired tastes--years of not taking yourself too seriously needed to appreciate them. If you watch you'll see that their comedy is built on reality. Among the many terrific signs we saw: "Comedy Central is our news channel; Fox is our comedy channel." Dorothy & Bill *Metro broke a 19-year record with 875,000 riders & we can attest to what seemed just shy of Colbert's 10-billion crowd estimate
We live in a world of irony, comedy, and reality. The irony is those who call themselves intelligent yet seem to think comedy is somehow the only reality.
Some terrific stuff here, I could name some favorites, but as an essay you really nailed it!
Lr3 is a powerful tool, very pleased that I got on board early...so many options out there. Photo Mechanic is still an awesome way to make a selection for deadline, but Lr3 is the one stop shop. In fact, the need to do any post production in Adobe photoshop has been eliminated..at least from my standpoint as a photojournalist.
Ok..2nd, 4th, and 6th from the bottom are my favorites....well done on the edges.
Thanks amigo! One stop shop indeed. Though, still so much to unlearn from what I was using and try to wrap my head around LR's interface. It's coming along though... Marovich has been tutoring a little over the phone (in fact just hung up with him! Ha.)

My point exactly. ;-)
Gore Vidal once said he thought irony should be written in blue ink. Sad that we've become a nation unable to detect it otherwise.

ReplyDeleteFar too many out there IMHO.

ReplyDeleteLet's try to chat this weekend.
I really like the shot of the mime. The framing is great, very fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny!
